College Choir

“The St. John’s College Choir” is College’s non-auditioned choir, and as such has members ranging from College choral scholars, who enjoy singing different repertoire from their usual fare to a good standard, through to people who’ve never sung before and want to try their hand at it.  In the previous two years, the choir has enjoyed great success within college; notable highlights include a performance of Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms in

Durham Cathedral as part of the College’s centenary celebrations (see picture), as well as annual participation in the Carol Service, in Durham Cathedral and St. Oswald’s Church. The choir has also performed at events such as the Pete Wake fundraising concert in academic year 2009/10, as one of a number of ensembles to take part. The choir is open to all members of college – undergraduates, postgraduates, staff & members of Cranmer Hall; if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me – I’d love to hear from you.
