Fairtrade Fortnight occurs once a year, in February/March. It’s a chance to raise awareness of Fairtrade around the world, and to allow everyone to get involved and eat vast amounts of chocolate (all in a good cause). John’s has traditionally celebrated Fairtrade Fortnight with great enthusiasm, and past events have included a Fairtrade Quiz, Fairtrade chocolate fountain, film night, Fairtrade Easter egg raffle, and over-use of giant inflatable bananas. John’s JWS is currently a member of two fair trade steering groups – Durham City group and St John’s College group.
